STEEL

Benefits

  • Cost-effective
  • Durable 
  • Fire Resistant
  • Rigidity (can be spaced further apart)

Drawbacks

  • Heavy
  • Susceptible to Pitting and Corrosion

COPPER AND COPPER ALLOYS

Benefits

  • More Corrosion-Resistant
  • Stays Smoother Internally

Drawback 

  • More Expensive

NONMETALLIC PIPING

Benefits

  • Flexible
  • Highest Corrosion Resistance and is
  • Smoother than most metals.

Drawbacks

  • Not as Durable
  • Not as Fire-Resistant
