The Honeywell Ademco 5809SS is a wireless fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise heat detector, not a smoke detector, that transmits alarm, supervisory, and low-battery signals to a 345 MHz Honeywell receiver so it can cover kitchens, garages, and other spaces where smoke detectors are prone to nuisance alarms. It trips on a fixed 135 degF threshold or a rate-of-rise of 15 degF per minute or more, and a built-in tamper switch reports if the unit is pulled from its mounting base.
