The Amerex 12721 is a spring link actuator used inside the mechanical release module (MRM) of an Amerex kitchen fire suppression system. It's one of the small linkage components that transmits the pull of the fusible-link detection circuit to the gas valve, connecting the detection side of the system to the release side so a ruptured link actually trips the cylinder.
