The Amerex 12792 is a 1¼" mechanical gas shut-off valve required on any gas-fired cooking appliance protected by an Amerex kitchen fire suppression system. Held open by a latching mechanism, the brass valve is wired into the suppression system so that a discharge automatically shuts off the gas supply, satisfying the automatic gas shutoff requirement of NFPA 96.
