The Amerex 20083-25 is a 25-foot length of spring-covered linear heat detector cable used on Amerex vehicle fire suppression systems. Two internal, coiled, spring-loaded conductors are held apart by heat-sensitive insulation; when the surrounding temperature reaches the cable's set point the insulation melts, letting the conductors touch and send the fire alarm signal.
