The Amerex A0383 (factory part number 00383-P) is a valve spring used inside the brass valve assembly on several Amerex extinguisher lines, including the Water Mist models (B270/C270, B272/C272), the brass-valve Halotron I units (397, 398), and the 50 lb. wheeled dry chemical units (495, 497). It provides the return force for the discharge lever mechanism and is a standard wear item replaced during valve teardown.
