The Amerex 10173 is a vent check installed downstream of a Pneumatic Control Head in Amerex's Dry Chemical, ICS, and Modular fire suppression systems that use nitrogen-pressure actuation. Built from machined brass with an internal spring and nylon ball, it bleeds off the residual pressure that builds up in the actuation network after the system fires, preventing that trapped pressure from causing the control head valve to unexpectedly reopen.
