The Ansul 197 is a lead wire tamper seal used to show that an Ansul fire suppression system - including R-102, KKII, CHECKFIRE, and large dry-chemical systems - hasn't been tripped or opened since its last inspection. A technician threads the roughly 10-inch wire through the pull handle or actuator and crimps the lead seal; a broken or missing seal at the next visual inspection immediately flags that the system may have discharged or been tampered with.
