The Apollo 55000-316APO is a conventional, plug-in photoelectric smoke detector from Apollo's Series 65 range, built for two-wire conventional fire alarm zones. It uses optical light-scatter sensing to detect smoke and carries a flashing LED that changes state when it moves into alarm, giving a quick visual status check without opening the housing. The manufacturer has discontinued this model, though installed units remain fully serviceable as direct replacements.
