The Apollo ORB-OP-42003-MAR is an Orbis Marine optical smoke detector that uses photo-electric light-scattering sensing inside a chevron-shaped sampling chamber to detect fast-burning, flaming fires while resisting false alarms from dust and airborne contaminants. It includes a flashing LED status indicator and is built in Apollo's Orbis marine-rated housing for shipboard and offshore fire detection systems.
Key Features
- Photo-electric light-scattering detection using an infrared emitter, prism, and solid-state photo-diode
- Sealed sensing chamber keeps out dust and airborne contaminants without blocking smoke entry
- Samples the chamber every 4 seconds and stabilizes in under 20 seconds after power-up
- Flashing-LED status indicator variant of the Orbis marine detector line
Technical Specifications
- Operating voltage: 5-33V DC (minimum 6V to activate)
- Quiescent current: 95 microamps at 24V DC
- Operating/storage temperature: -40C to 70C; humidity 0-98% RH, non-condensing
- Housing: white polycarbonate, 97mm diameter x 31mm; IP23D ingress rating
