The DSC LC-181 is an outdoor passive infrared (PIR) motion detector built around Octa-Quad™ detection technology, which uses multiple overlapping PIR zones and mirror optics to reduce false alarms from environmental noise while still catching a genuine intrusion. Anti-mask circuitry detects attempts to blind or cover the sensor, and the weather-resistant housing lets it hold up to outdoor exposure where a standard indoor PIR would fail.
