The Edwards 3-MODCOM is a modem/communicator (DACT) module for EST3 fire alarm control panels, combining a digital alarm communicator transmitter with an internal V.32bis 14.4K baud full-duplex modem. It gives an EST3 network off-premises reporting to a central monitoring station along with remote upload/download of system programming and diagnostics over standard telephone lines.

- Integrates a DACT and high-speed modem for remote reporting and remote upload/download of system data
- Supervises up to two telephone lines and manages line usage to minimize disruption to other devices sharing the lines
- Can split or distribute reports to up to 80 different receivers and manage as many as 255 subscriber accounts
- Continues transmitting critical alarm signals in a degraded mode even during a network CPU failure
- Occupies a single local rail space and can be mounted at any node on the network
- Configuration and firmware can be updated from any network node
