The Edwards COM-3-RC is reconditioned stock of the COMM-3, a communications card that plugs into a CM1(N), RMDP-1N, or CM2(N) control module motherboard to give its CPU an RS-485 network port and an RS-232 port. The RS-485 side carries network traffic between control modules with configurable Class A or Class B wiring, while the RS-232 side is used to download programming data or connect a local printer or video annunciator; the card also houses the system's clock.
