The Faraday 8704 is an addressable interface module that supervises a dry contact input and incorporates an onboard Form C relay, reporting both the monitored circuit's status and the relay's state back to the fire alarm control panel over a single addressable device circuit. A multicolor LED on the module face shows red for alarm, yellow for trouble, and green for normal operation, and the unit is field-addressed with the Faraday 8720 Device Programmer/Tester before installation.
Key Features
- Monitors a normally open or normally closed dry contact and reports status to the panel
- Onboard addressable Form C relay for auxiliary control functions
- Tri-color LED indication: red (alarm), yellow (trouble), green (normal)
- Polarity-insensitive wiring — Line 1 and Line 2 can be either line of the loop
Technical Specifications
- Current Draw: 1 mA from the addressable device circuit
- Relay Contact Rating: 4A @ 125 VAC / 4A @ 30 VDC, resistive
- Wiring: 18 AWG minimum, 14 AWG maximum; requires a wiring barrier when relay contacts connect to non-power-limited wires
- Mounting: 4" square, 2-1/8" deep box, or double-gang box (user supplied), with supplied 5" square switchplate
