The Faraday (Siemens) 8743 is an air duct detector housing with an integral relay, designed to mount directly to HVAC ductwork and hold a compatible Faraday 8700 or 8854 series smoke detector so it can sense smoke carried through the duct system. When smoke is detected, the housing's relay operates supplementary equipment such as fan shutdown or damper controls, in compliance with NFPA 90A air distribution requirements.
