The Gentex H220 is a 220 VAC heat alarm built to warn of the heat produced by an actual fire in dwelling units including homes, apartments, hospitals, hotels, and motels. It uses a self-restoring isolated 135°F thermal element rather than a smoke sensor, so it is meant for spaces where dust, steam, or cooking fumes would cause nuisance alarms on a photoelectric unit. A 9V alkaline battery keeps the alarm's temporal-3 evacuation horn and its tandem interconnect working if building power is lost.
