The Hochiki TCF-142-M-ST is a fiber optic network module that converts RS-485 signals to multimode fiber optic transmission for FireNET, FireNET Plus, and Network Annunciator installations. Running the network over fiber rather than copper extends the usable distance between nodes and shields the link from electrical interference and chemical corrosion that would otherwise limit a large or harsh-environment fire alarm network.
