The double-action design requires two distinct motions to activate - lifting or pushing a cover before the pull lever can be operated - reducing accidental activations compared with a single-action station. Because it's addressable, it reports its own unique device address to the fire alarm control panel rather than sharing a zone with other devices on the same circuit, letting the panel identify exactly which station was pulled.
