The Kidde-Fenwal 27121-0-225 is a vertical-mount Detect-A-Fire rate-compensated heat detector set to open at 225°F, used to control the release of extinguishing agents such as clean agents, CO2, water, or dry chemicals, or to signal an overheat/fire alarm condition. Rate compensation lets it track actual ambient air temperature rather than reacting to transient warm-air drafts, avoiding the nuisance trips common with simple rate-of-rise detectors while still responding faster than a fixed-temperature-only device in a fast-growing fire.
