The Kidde GSA-IM2 is an intelligent isolator module used on Kidde/Edwards Signature Series Class A signaling line circuits to contain wiring faults. Wired directly into the SLC loop, it monitors the line on either side and, if a short circuit occurs, opens within milliseconds to isolate only the affected wiring segment so the rest of the loop keeps operating.
Key Features
- Automatically isolates a short-circuit fault to keep the remainder of the Class A loop in service
- Addressable device requiring one SLC address, set electronically with no address switches
- Can be placed at any point on the Class A data loop
Technical Specifications
- For use on Class A wiring only
- Maximum circuit resistance between isolators: 6 ohms
- Isolators open within approximately 23 ms of a detected short, then reclose sequentially at 10 ms intervals starting from the loop controller side
- All wiring is power-limited and supervised; module requires electrical power to operate
Certifications
- Listed for use with Kidde/Edwards Signature Series intelligent fire alarm control panels
