The Kidde GSA-REL is a Signature Series analog addressable releasing module that communicates directly with a MIR2 or QuickStart fire alarm control panel's Signature loop controller to control deluge, preaction sprinkler, and automatic (clean-agent, CO2, or foam) fire extinguishing systems. A single module handles release, prerelease notification, manual/abort control, and zone status reporting, so no separate releasing panel is needed.
Key Features
- Two supervised release circuits (operate in unison, controlling the release solenoids) and two supervised prerelease circuits for audible and visual notification appliances
- Supervised manual release input, a supervised abort circuit for a normally-open abort switch, and a Form C zone relay output
- Field-selectable abort modes and delay timers via the MIR2 2-SDU or QuickStart QS-CU configuration software
- Interfaces with FM-approved manual release stations (M276A-REL, M278A-REL), abort station (RELA-ABT), service disconnect switch (RELA-SRV-1), and RELA-EOL solenoid control relays
Technical Specifications
- Compatibility: Kidde Signature Series MIR2 and QuickStart fire alarm control panels (not compatible with the QuickStart PS6 power supply card); up to 10 GSA-REL modules per Signature loop
- Release/prerelease circuits: 2 A at 24 VDC max per circuit, 4 valves max per circuit, 47 k-ohm end-of-line resistor, supervised for open, short, and ground faults
- Zone relay output: Form C, 3 A at 24 VDC resistive load
- Operating environment: 32-120°F (0-49°C), 0-93% relative humidity, non-condensing
Certifications
- UL 864 (9th Edition) and ULC S527 listed; FM Approved for deluge, preaction, and automatic fire extinguishing systems per NFPA 11, 11A, 12, 12A, 13, 15, 16, 17, and 2001
