The Kidde KC2-RB is a relay-equipped mounting base for the EC2 series detector line, adding a set of relay contacts that switch when the installed detector goes into alarm. It's used where a facility needs an independent auxiliary output from a specific detector location - for example, to trigger a duct damper or a remote signal - without routing that function through the fire alarm panel's own notification circuits. The compatible EC2-series detector head snaps into the base in the same way as a standard base.
