The Kidde KI-HCD is an intelligent multisensor detector that combines heat, carbon monoxide, and optical smoke sensing in a single addressable unit, analyzing the heat and CO sensors independently so the panel can distinguish between a fire alarm and a life-safety CO alarm (or both) from one device.
Key Features
- Combines heat, CO, and optical smoke detection in one addressable head
- Digital signal filtering removes patterns atypical of real fires to reduce nuisance alarms
- Independent analysis of heat vs. CO sensor data to separate fire alarms from CO alarms
- Compatible with standard, relay, and fault-isolator bases, plus audible sounder bases and remote alarm LEDs
Technical Specifications
- Heat detection: 15°F/min rate-of-rise, 135°F fixed (alarm point 129-141°F)
- CO alarm thresholds: 70 ppm (60-240 min), 150 ppm (10-50 min), 400 ppm (4-15 min)
Certifications
- UL 268 (smoke), UL 521 (heat), UL 464 (audible signaling) Listed
