The Mircom MIX-M500X is an isolator module from Mircom's MIX-M500 Series, designed to protect an addressable fire alarm signaling line circuit (SLC) loop from a single point of failure. Installed between groups of detectors or modules on a loop, it automatically isolates a wiring short so the rest of the loop keeps operating normally.
Key Features
- Automatically switches to an open-circuit state when line voltage drops below the fault threshold, isolating the short from the rest of the loop
- Both isolators bordering a shorted section switch open together, containing the fault to the affected group only
- Remaining devices on the loop continue to operate normally while the fault is isolated
- Mounts in a standard 4-inch junction box
Technical Specifications
- Maximum standby current: 450 µA
- Maximum isolation current: 5 mA
- Minimum fault detection delay: 250 ms
- Fault detection threshold: 4 VDC
- Line restoration threshold: 7 VDC
- No more than 25 devices recommended per isolated group
Certifications
- Part of Mircom's UL listed MIX-M500 Series addressable module line
