The Pyro-Chem 551200 is the MCH (Manual Control Head), the mechanical, manual-only release head used to trigger a Pyro-Chem wet chemical kitchen fire suppression system. Pulling the head's local control handle after removing its pull pin punctures the system's nitrogen actuation cartridge, which forces open the agent tank and discharges wet chemical agent through the hood, duct, and appliance nozzles.
Key Features
- Manual-only actuation: unlike the NMCH DPT (551204), the 551200 has no automatic detection line input, so pulling the handle is the sole way to discharge the system
- Local mechanical control handle, operated by removing the pull pin and rotating the handle clockwise
Technical Specifications
- Actuation Method: Mechanical, via nitrogen cartridge puncture
- Used On: Pyro-Chem PCL-series and Kitchen Knight wet chemical systems
Certifications
- Installation must meet NFPA 96 requirements for manual system actuation (accessible placement, labeling, staff training)
