The Siemens AS-MC-R (Part# 500-636010) is a multi-candela audible/visible notification appliance from Siemens' Series 'AS' line, using a Xenon flash tube in a rugged Lexan lens to produce a synchronized one-flash-per-second strobe. If the sync module or power supply fails, the strobe reverts to a non-synchronized flash rate rather than going dark, and the audible tone can be silenced while the strobe keeps operating when used with Siemens synchronization.
