The 5496 Intelligent Power Module from Silent Knight® is a high-performance, cost-effective 6-amp notification power expander engineered for modern fire and life-safety systems. With built-in synchronization for leading appliance brands, including AMSECO, Gentex®, Faraday, System Sensor®, and Wheelock®, the 5496 delivers the power and compatibility needed to support demanding applications such as ADA-required notification appliances. Its advanced microprocessor architecture and switch-mode power supply design provide up to 50% higher efficiency than traditional linear supplies, reducing heat and improving long-term reliability. The 5496 includes its own AC power input, battery charger, and backup battery support, making it ideal for both standalone use and integration with control panels such as the IntelliKnight® 5808. Notification circuits can be configured as NACs or auxiliary power, offering constant, resettable, or door-holder output options. The module also includes ANSI cadence capability, allowing upgrades for older panels that lack built-in cadence patterns. With programmable circuit options, ground fault detection, long-distance SBUS communication, and a lightweight enclosure, the 5496 is designed for both performance and ease of installation.
