The Simplex 2098-9529 is a 4-wire detector base from Simplex's 2098 series, built to hold and wire a photoelectric smoke detector head such as the 2098-9603 as part of a conventional fire alarm initiating circuit. The base stays permanently mounted at the ceiling box while the detector head snaps in and out for cleaning, testing, or replacement.
