The Simplex 4009-9801 is an external battery cabinet used with the 4009 NAC Power Extender to relocate notification-circuit power and batteries closer to the field devices they serve, cutting line loss and preserving control panel battery capacity. It provides an 18 Ah battery charger, supporting internally charged 10 Ah batteries or externally mounted 18 Ah batteries.

- Delivers eight amperes of DC signaling power to four or eight supervised reverse-polarity NAC circuits (Style Y or Style Z)
- Positions power and battery capacity nearer the notification devices to reduce line losses
- Required accessory for 18 Ah battery charging capability on the 4009 platform
