Simplex 4098-9716-RC Ionization Detector, TrueAlarm

The Simplex 4098-9716 is a TrueAlarm ionization smoke sensor for use with compatible Simplex TrueAlarm sensor bases on 4020, 4100, 4120, and related Simplex fire alarm systems. It provides digitally communicated analog smoke sensing to the host fire alarm control panel.

Key Features:

• Dual-Chamber Ionization Sensing: Uses a single Americium-241 radioactive source with an outer sampling ionization chamber and an inner reference chamber, providing stable operation despite environmental fluctuations such as temperature and humidity.

• Digital Communication: Transmits an analog measurement of smoke/combustion gas presence to the control panel over Simplex's addressable communication protocol, where it is analyzed against a continuously updated average for accurate alarm determination.

• Selectable Sensitivity: Sensitivity is field-selectable at the fire alarm control panel across multiple levels to suit the application.

• Interchangeable Base Mounting: Mounts to a standard Simplex TrueAlarm base, allowing sensor types to be swapped in the field without reprogramming the control panel address.
