The System Sensor 5602 is a single-circuit mechanical heat detector combining a 194°F fixed-temperature thermal element with rate-of-rise detection that trips on temperature increases of roughly 15°F or more per minute. The rate-of-rise element is self-restoring after activation, but reaching the 194°F fixed threshold melts internal solder and permanently trips the unit, requiring replacement - making it a low-cost option for property protection where smoke detection isn't appropriate.
